Pain-Hatching is a 3D Metroidvania adventure about that blends exploration, RPG elements, as a chicken sets out on a bizarre adventure inspired by Fur Fighters, American McGee’s Alice, and Dark Souls.
In Pain-Hatching you explore a large open world filled with quirky characters. You’ll do a little platforming, fight enemies, farm loot, level up, find secrets, and interact with NPCs. The combat is turn-based, with you ucing collectible cards to vanquish enemies. You also have a phone that lets you take photos, transfer between locations, and solve puzzles.
It could do with a little more guidance in some areas, a more streamlined inventroy system and removal of fall damage, but other than that it’s a promising game. The game world is a lof of fun to explore, with all kinds of weird stuff to discover, and there’s a nice variety of different mechanics at play too. It’s clucking good fun!
