Pastoral is a beautiful narrative-driven sheep-herding game set in a world where civilization has been destroyed by a cataclysmic event.
In Pastoral midway though the 19th century fire rained down from the sky and all-but ended civilization. You take on the role of one of the few survivors – a shepherd who guides his flock to safety through hills filled with ravenous wolves. You can guide the sheep with your faithful sheepdog and you can shoot the wolves with your gun, but it takes a long time to reload so you need to be precise with your shots.
At the moment the slow reload speed and constant wolf attacks does detract from the experience a little, but other than that it’s a promising game. The sheep-herding is remarkably inquisitive and the painterly art style is beautiful. It would be a very pleasant stroll through the hilltops if it wasn’t for those damn wolves!
