Pinnacle Point is an Alan Wake-esque atmospheric third-person survival horror game where you infiltrate an island where a shadowy corporation has been conducting experiments.
In Pinnacle Point you return to an island where you used to stay, in search of your missing brother. However, it appears some human experimentation has been going on there, and now the island is filled with horrifying tentacled abominations. To dispatch them you’ll need to aim a (Alan Wake flashlight-esque) resonator at them to remove their shield, then you can use a gun to kill them.
As reality blurs with nightmare, players must solve cryptic puzzles while managing limited supplies to survive increasingly dangerous encounters. The psychological horror intensifies as Aron delves deeper, risking his own soul to save his brother from a fate worse than death.
The Pinnacle Point playtest build takes around an hour to play through and impresses with its great low poly visual style, tense atmosphere and cinematic storytelling. The abundance of bullets and speed of your character mean the enemies aren’t too much of a threat at the moment, but hopefully that will change as more dangerous enemies are introduced. It’s a very promising start – Pinnacle Point is on point!
