Please is a very unsettling PS1-era styled industrial horror game where you are a repairman who must keep things running in a strange facility in an alternate timeline.
In Please you take on the role of a repair man in an alternate timeline just after a large war has taken place (and you are the victors). Your job is to carry out the tasks that are left at your door each day, each of which require you to travel down to the basement of the facility you’re in, find a certain piece of equipment and operate it. You don’t ask why you’re carrying out the tasks or who asked you to perform them, but there sure are some horrifying noises coming from the machinery in the basement…
It takes around 10 minutes to play through Please and it really impresses with it’s world building, environmental storytelling and stylish retro visuals. It’s a very creepy experience, but what really gets under your skin are the freaky sounds that you hear down in that basement. Highly recommended.
