Plexus is a cleverly designed third person puzzle action platformer that sees a little robot jumping and dashing it’s way through a large moving mechanical world.
In Plexus you control a little robot who has to make it to the core of a massive moving machine. There are giant robots on guard that will try to blast you if they see you so you have to move quickly, but you also have to be frugal with your movements – jumping, dashing and survival vision (similar to Arkham Asylum’s Detective mode) all use energy, of which you only have a limited supply.
Running out of energy and giant robots aren’t the most dangerous thing in Plexus though, the biggest killer is gravity. There are large sections of the game world that rotate (with you inside them) and you have to try and navigate them without falling. It’s like trying to walk through a large house while it’s on a slow spin in a washing machine – disorientating but a lot of fun!
Plexus takes around 20 minutes to play through and really impresses with its stylish visuals, tight character controls and inventive level design. The rotating sections of the game world are particularly impressive and are great fun to try and navigate. A rolling robo-platformer well worth taking for a spin.
