Remember Places? is an unsettling little PS1 styled game which encourages you to stay inside and hang out in virtual landscapes with your AI buddy.
Created for the Haunted PS1 Wretched Weekend game jam, Remember Places? sees you locked away in a room with just an AI buddy on your computer to keep you company and keep you sane. After being locked away for so long, most real places are now just a distant memory to you, but your AI buddy can take you to different virtual landscapes where you can hang out and chat. The services your AI buddy provides costs tokens though, which you can pick up in game and give to them.
Taking around 15 minutes to play through, it’s an interesting and thought provoking game that has some clever little twists along the way. It’s not a full on horror game, but it’s got a creepy atmosphere and the feeling of being trapped and isolated away from society is particularly pertinent at the moment. If you’re trapped inside just now you maybe you should try spending some time with your AI buddy!
