Robbie Swifthand and the Orb of Mysteries is a rage-inducing precision puzzle platformer in which you attempt to navigate a temple filled with hidden traps and horrible ways to die!
In Robbie Swifthand and the Orb of Mysteries you play a thief who’s awoken in an unfamiliar temple by a spirit that tells him that he needs to find fragments of a mystical orb to save humanity from an evil entity. You’re not too bothered about all the hassle of saving humanity, but there is promise of a huge reward for your endeavours so off you go…
It turns out that reward is going to be very hard earned and poor little Robbie will most likely be stabbed, sliced and mauled in a variety of horrific ways by the various traps that are littered around the temple. Some traps are obvious, but a lot of them are deviously hidden by foreground scenery or recesses within walls, just waiting for an unsuspecting adventurer to activate them. This makes each level as much a test of memory as it is of platforming skill as you attempt to remember where all the traps are and the best route through them.
It’s still in development but Robbie Swifthand and the Orb of Mysteries already shows a high level of polish and the devious level design combined with the gratuitously gory ways to die make for some hilarious rage inducing gameplay. There are so many times you’ll be breathing a sigh of relief as you inch past one trap, only to be skewered by another one you hadn’t noticed! A delightfully brutal puzzle platformer that’s extremely rage Inducing, but in a good way!
