Sam & Dan: Floaty Flatmates is a wonderfully weird co-op VR game set in a flooded post-apocalyptic world where you and a buddy across the street from you work together to reach a boat in shark infested waters.
The gameplay in Sam & Dan: Floaty Flatmates takes place in a Waterworld-esque post-apocalyptic world where a big flood has trapped you and your buddy at the top of two high-rise apartments that are across the street from each other. You must now work together to gather resources and building materials and build a rudimentary floating pathway to allow you to reach the boat that’s positioned between the apartments. You’ll want to avoid falling in the water at all costs as there’s a big nasty shark who’s just waiting to gobble you up.
It’s a great looking game that looks set to offer a lighthearted and playful take on the post-apocalypse. There’s lots of interesting ways you and your buddy can interact together – such as firing arrows across the street to set up pulley systems, communicating via a tin-can-and-string phone, using telescopes to see each other or just having a game of Chess. Cooperation isn’t just necessary in Sam & Dan: Floaty Flatmates, it’s what makes the game so much fun.
