Savant: Ascent REMIX is an intense elevator-riding twin-stick shooter with a minimalistic control scheme that allows you to focus on dodging and blasting.
A sequel to the well received 2013 original, Savant: Ascent REMIX is a twin-stick shooter where you ascend a massive tower and blast hordes of robots. You can aim and fire as in any twin-stick shooter, but the movement is pretty unique. Rather than having full control of your character’s movement, you can only make them dash or jump between two platforms. This means that you don’t have to worry about falling off any platforms and can focus on the best part – blasting robot hordes!
It’s a clever concept that makes for a game that’s very easy to pick up and play, which also offers plenty of challenges. Meanwhile, the controls are responsive, the visuals are beautiful and the soundtrack is a banger. A great example of how the use of limited controls can elevate a game. Highly recommended.
