Scars Above is a third person Sci-Fi survival horror adventure set on a mysterious alien world with a fascinating (and deadly) ecosystem.
Currently in development by Mad Head Games (creators of Adam Wolfe and Dark Realm), Scars Above is a beautiful and terrifying Sci-Fi survival horror adventure where you find yourself stranded on a mysterious alien planet. You and your team were sent on a mission to the planet after it was found to be the origin of a strange alien structure that appeared in Earth’s orbit. However, after an incident you awake alone on the planet and must search for your crew and unravel the secrets of the strange alien technology you encounter.
The demo build of Scars Above features a sizeable chunk of gameplay with nice mixture of exploration, puzzles, combat and even a little detective work. As you progress you learn more about the strange alien world and unlock new upgrades for your gun – which allow you to tackle the environment and enemies in interesting ways (such as being able to freeze water or use environmental water to gain combo damage from your electricity-based attacks).
It’s an excellent game with high quality visuals, an interesting setting and satisfyingly tactical combat encounters. A lot of thought has clearly gone into creating the game world and the creatures that inhabit it. It feels very much like you’re walking through a functioning alien ecosystem (albeit a functioning alien ecosystem that wants to kill you). Highly recommended.
