Single-Eyed is a stylish and eerily beautiful little exploration adventure that follows the story of a lonely robot who attempts to track down a lone life signal in a desolate post-apocalyptic world.
Created for the theBatya Game Jam 2021.2, in Single-Eyed you take control of a robot who has detected a solitary life signal in a post-apocalyptic wilderness. As you attempt to track down the life signal you also need to find and collect batteries to power your systems. This is easy enough as your compass points to them, but the route it takes you on helps to highlight the devastation done to the lifeless planet.
Taking around 10 minutes to play through, it’s a beautiful looking game that makes great use of environmental storytelling to help give you a picture of what happened to the post-apocalyptic world as you trek through it. There’s a quirky charm to your little robot’s movement animations and the ending is a particular highlight. Highly recommended.
