Size Matters is a first person puzzle game where every second counts as you attempt to use the equipment in your laboratory to synthesise an antidote which will stop you from shrinking out of existence!
In Size Matters you take on the role of a scientist who has inadvertently ingested a chemical formula that causes them to shrink every second until you blink out of existence. It’s now a race against time as you use chemicals and lab equipment to synthesize the three key components of the antidote and cure yourself. As you shrink getting around the lab will get trickier, with the game essentially turning into a 3D platformer as you figure out ways to climb up onto worktops where the equipment/ingredients are.
If all this sounds strangely familiar, then it’ll be because it’s the same premise as Inch by Inch, a game jam game we covered back in 2018. The devs between the two projects have discussed the issue and there’s no ill will, with the Size Matters dev (Mazen Games), keen to make the game as different as possible while still retaining the same premise. The visual style is already quite different and you’ll be able to tweak lots of different settings (jump height, player size, movement speed, chemical processing time, etc.) to make different gameplay experiences. Sign up for the Beta to see if you can find a cure before you shrink out of existence!
Special Thanks to @Therealmathyno for the heads up about this Beta!
