Skycadia is a fast, fun and wonderfully disorientating first person arcade dogfighting game where you swoop through the skies of a little ocean-filled planet and blast pirates out of the sky.
In Skycadia you step into the shoes of Captain Sanders – an elite pilot who has been tasked with collecting bounties on the sky pirates that have invaded your airspace. What this basically means is that you swoop through the skies, blasting anything in sight while avoiding taking too much fire yourself.
The current demo build of Skycadia features a survival mode where you attempt to rack up a high score by blowing up sky pirate ships and collecting their loot. You can only take a little bit of damage and there’s no way to recuperate your health so each round is very short, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun.
Hopefully there’s a little more depth (upgrades/unlockables/etc.) in the full game, but even as it stands it’s a great little slice of retro arcade action. The fast paced arcade gameplay, vibrant colorful visuals and catchy soundtrack combine to make a very addictive experience that keeps you coming back for just one more go. See if you can survive the beautiful blue skies of Skycadia!
