Sonic Galactic is a fantastic SEGA Saturn styled fan made Sonic The Hedgehog game where Sonic and pals battle Dr Eggman on an island that’s home to a meteorite of extreme power.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer back in 2020, Sonic Galactic is a stunning 32 bit styled Sonic fan game with massive multi-route levels, stunning 2D visuals and fun 3D bonus stages. The new demo features five playable levels, complete with boss fights, and five playable characters.
The roster of characters include Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Fang and an original character called Tunnel The Mole. Each character has their own unique abilities, with stand-outs being Tunnel’s ability to dig into surfaces and fire himself out of them, and Sonic’s handy DropDash ability.
It is prone to crashing when you exit the bonus stages, and an option to replay levels with any character would be nice (there is an upcoming time attack mode that will probably allow that), but other than that it’s a fantastic game. Every level is beautifully crafted and it will take hours to master just one of them. Meanwhile the pixelart, the music and the boss battles are all faultless. It’s as near a perfect Sonic game as you could ask for and another triumph for the Sonic fan game community. Highly recommended.
