SPACE TO INVESTIGATE is an eerie little mystery adventure where you investigate a brutal murder in a creepy town where the locals all look after each other.
Created for the Haunted PS1 Wretched Weekend jam, SPACE TO INVESTIGATE is a short, stylish and surprisingly creepy little first person detective game set in a town that’s not keen to give up its secrets. You examine a crime scene and chat to residents in the nearby area to try and find out who murdered a manager of a large company.
You carry around a folder that fills up with clues as you investigate the murder and you can flip the page to each clue to specifically ask persons of interest about them. The case gets weirder the deeper you look into it and a lot of the residents don’t want to help you at all – stating that “in Cherry Creek we all look out for each other”.
SPACE TO INVESTIGATE is a very impressive little game that not only has a great sense of atmosphere, but also manages to make the murder investigation mechanics fun and intuitive. It’s the ending that’ll really get you though and make you hope for a sequel that will allow you to delve deeper into the secrets of the mysterious town of Cherry Creek.
