Stockroom Syndrome is a flat pack-building horror job simulator set in December 1996 at HØLM, a giant IKEA-esque Scandinavian furniture superstore where you’ve been hired for the night shift with three simple responsibilities: build flatpack furniture, furnish display rooms, and stay alive while demonic creatures hunt you through ever-changing halls.
In Stockroom Syndrome you’ll physically assemble modular furniture using manuals and joinery while decorating showroom displays with items pulled from Electronics, Soft Furnishing, and Storage departments across a procedurally generated store that changes every shift. Recent workplace concerns include walls leaking mysterious red fluid, spontaneous combustion of entire displays, flaming rocks breaking through floors, disturbing howls echoing through corridors, and mannequins relocating themselves without explanation. Distinct supernatural threats roam freely or haunt specific departments while escalating hauntings transform routine tasks into desperate survival scenarios throughout your full campaign of repeated night shifts.
It’s a very promising game with satisfying and intuitive building mechanics, a nice variety of monsters/anomalies and an authentic feeling IKEA inspired setting. There’s no place like HØLM!
