The Bagman – Alpha Demo

The Bagman is a 16-bit styled survival horror point-and-click adventure where a routine babysitting job spirals into a blood-soaked nightmare, and every decision determines who lives to see morning.

Built within genuine Sega Genesis hardware constraints, The Bagman pairs gorgeous pixel-art visuals with a ticking clock that drives events forward whether you witness them or not. You’ll command your friends directly, issuing orders that could save their lives or send them stumbling into one of the game’s many lovingly crafted death animations. Once someone dies, they stay dead – reshaping your options for the rest of the night.

The gameplay blends stealth-based survival with classic point-and-click puzzle solving, as roaming horrors hunt you room by room with distinct behaviors you can learn to exploit. You can also command allies to do things for you, such as hide, use something or distract a monster. Multiple endings branch from your choices, your path through the house, and which friends are still breathing by the final act.

The demo takes about 25 minutes to play through and does have a few rough edges, but otherwise it’s pretty impressive. The pixel art is excellent, the way you work with your allies is clever and the story is intriguing. If you’re dying to relive the golden age of slasher horror, this one’s got you in the bag!
