The Beatles Adventure in Pepperland is a fantastic fan made Super Mario Bros 2 ROM hack where John, Paul, George and Ringo battle the Blue Meanies in Pepperland!
Currently in development by NesDraug, The Beatles Adventure in Pepperland is a superb Super Mario Bros 2 ROM hack that turns the NES classic into a Yellow Submarine inspired adventure in Pepperland. It swaps Mario, Luigi, Toad and Peach for George, Paul, Ringo and John respectively, each still keeping the unique skills of the individual characters.
The level design is pretty much the same as the original (with a few minor tweaks), but everything has had a graphical overhaul, with some very striking color palette changes and differently themed collectibles (Records instead of Coins, Music Notes instead of Cherries, etc.). Also, all the enemies and bosses have been swapped out for the Blue Meanies!
Even as it stands it’s a fantastic game, with the only thing missing being a Beatles themed soundtrack. Thankfully NesDraug is continuing to work on The Beatles Adventure in Pepperland, with one of his main goals being to add chip-tune Beatles songs. Super Mario Bros 2 has always been the black sheep the Mario franchise, but it sure makes a fantastic adventure for the Fab Four!

To Play The Beatles Adventure in Pepperland you’ll need a NES Emulator, the Lunar IPS program a Super Mario Bros 2 USA ROM (we can’t legally tell you where to find this but Google is your friend) and the Pepperland ROM Hack .ips file. You need to run the Lunar IPS program to add the hack to the Super Mario Bros 2 USA ROM, then run it in the Emulator.
