In The Door in the Basement you have discovered a strange door in your basement. What’s even stranger is that none of the rest of your family could even see it. Sure, that should have set off plenty of alarm bells, but still you made the rookie mistake of stepping through it. Now you’re trapped in a strange subterranean world that seems to manifest many different fears.
The The Door in the Basement demo build takes around 25 minutes to play through and really impresses with its creepy atmosphere and intriguing setting. It’s cleverly constructed to prey on different types of fears. The main threat are the zombie-like monsters roaming the tunnels but there are also lots of other things that put you on edge – including giant spiders, vicious dogs, claustrophobia, body horror, mental decay, fear of drowning and even the skeleton of a gigantic monster.
It’s shaping up to be an excellent horror game with an intriguing premise and a nice variety of different things to get under your skin. Just what is the door?
