The Explorator is a cel shaded retro FPS where you explore a mysterious island full of strange hand-animated creatures.
In The Explorator you are part of an army whose ship was wrecked during a battle. You and your squad have now washed up on the shores of a mysterious island that may hold the secret of the missing city of Atlantis. However, it’s also filled with monsters and soldiers from the rival army.
The current build of The Explorator is still early in development so it does have plenty of rough edges – especially the lack of guidance when you reach the island. However, it’s an interesting and unique take on the genre that shows a lot of promise. The hand-animated enemies are particularly impressive and they look so cute that you ALMOST feel sorry for them when you shoot them!
