The Galaxicle Implosions is an innovative virtual Sci-Fi comedy play that is broadcast live from a theatre in London and allows you to join in and influence the story.
In The Galaxicle Implosions you’ll join the crew of the Worldship Beyartha as they set out on a mission to find a habitable planet for the human race to colonise after being pushed to the brink of extinction. There are five main crew-members (Captain Faith Lightship, Doctor Fleischmann, Admin Officer Son Trang, a cute little alien called Biscuit, and a ship’s AI called T.O.K..
The five main crew-members will all be controlled and voiced by professional actors who will broadcast their performance live from the London Theatre. You won’t be part of the crew but you can be part of the audience, either by turning up to the theatre, watching on YouTube or via an Oculus Headset. From there you’ll be able to not only enjoy the show, but also influence how it plays out, by making important decisions that affect the story.
Blending live performing arts with a VR setting is a clever concept that could be a lot of fun. Virtual sets are a lot more flexible than physical ones and the fact that the audience can have a say in how things shape out should make them more invested in the story.
