The Golf Club 2 is HB Studios’ snazzy looking follow up to the well received original, in which the devs have added lots of great new features based on feedback, including improved multiplayer, a career mode, character creation and a much improved course creator.
The original The Golf Club received pretty good reviews and was a very competent effort considering it was HB Studios first crack at the genre (and is certainly better than EA’s latest offerings). The Golf Club 2 looks set to offer a wide array of improvements across the board, with lush Unity 5 powered visuals, a comprehensive player creator, a full career mode, improved swing mechanics, more multiplayer game modes and an improved course editor that allows of lots of cool new tweaks. It also introduces Golf Societies – places where friends can hang out, play against each other and compete in major tournaments for in-game money. These clubhouses are run by club captains who choose the tournaments and prize money in the seasons, and the more cash the club earns, the more lush the clubhouse will look.
The Golf Club 2 is an enticing prospect as the original felt like a strong skeleton for a great game, but just needed a bit more visual shine and a few more features. The devs look to of addressed these issues and then some, fleshing out the game with all that players requested and more.
