THE IRONY is a tense 2.5D Sci-Fi survival horror game where a private military inspector investigates a research facility used for illegal human experimentation.
Inside this derelict laboratory of THE IRONY, you’ll face mechanically-enhanced test subjects who will literally tear you apart. As you lose body parts in the struggle, you must adapt. You’ll rip prosthetics from their corpses and graft them onto yourself. Each replacement makes you stronger, but also less human.
The current playtest build doesn’t have the limb-replacement mechanics, but you can upgrade/transform your weapon, allowing you to use it for melee and gun-based combat. It only takes a few kits to kill you so combat demands skill, with you using parries, dodgerolls and counterattacks to get the upper hand.
It’s a very promising game with a fantastic PS2 era inspired 2.5D visual style, challenging combat and great monster design. It feels a bit like if INSIDE was a survival horror game. Highly recommended.
