The Lift is a first person supernatural handyman adventure where you have to fix up an old abandoned facility that’s been corrupted by a mysterious black sludge.
In The Lift, you are a maintenance worker (called a Keeper) who was accidentally left in cryogenic suspension for a VERY long time. The Institute was once a pinnacle of research – until a catastrophe left it drifting through the void. When you awaken, you discover that the facility has been abandoned and has fallen into disrepair.
You now need to make repairs and figure out what happened there. The catastrophic event has left workers frozen like statues and the facility covered in a thick black sludge.
You’ll be able to use a lift as your base of operations as you travel from one floor of the facility to another and tackle big renovation projects. With your trusty toolbox, fix furniture, clean up reality-distorting anomalies, and make sure each area shines again. You will also serve as an electrician, repairing, maintaining, and operating a vast variety of machines from generators and vending stations to satellite dishes and supercomputers.
The facility utilizes entropy to generate energy, so the more repairs you do, the more power is generated. This allows you to power up different equipment and access new areas. You’re not alone on your journey, there are some NPCs to meet along the way, but you’ll be doing most of the repair work on your own. You’d better charge the company for a LOT of overtime once this ordeal’s over!
