The Mortuary Assistant is a tense and terrifying first person horror game where you attempt to embalm a corpse on your own on a dark and stormy night.
In The Mortuary Assistant you take on the role of the titular character as she drops in to finish a job after her boss had a family emergency in the middle of an embalming process. You’ve never embalmed a body on your own before but your boss has prepared the body and written a handy list of instructions for you. It shouldn’t be too hard should it?
The prototype build of The Mortuary Assistant takes around seven minutes to play through and really impresses with its high quality near-photorealistic visuals, tense atmosphere and freaky surprises. It would be nice to get a little further into the embalming process before the shit hits the fan, as operating on (and being in close proximity to) a dead body is quite an unnerving process in itself. It’s a fantastic little horror game though. Highly recommended.
