The Purgatory is a very creepy Unreal Engine 4-powered first person horror adventure in which you attempt to regain your memories as you explore and solve puzzles in a dark dimension where the rooms are always shifting.
In The Purgatory you take on the role of John Blake, a man who has lost his memories and has somehow become trapped in a dark dimension with only the sinister voice of an otherworldly being to guide him. As you progress you must solve puzzles, figure out the secrets this strange place and find out what that sinister voice is hiding from you.
Although there are some good jump scares, the majority of the horror in The Purgatory is much more of a cerebral. It draws on the works of H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allen Poe and Stephen King to to create a rich game world with a deep sense of dread and a narrative that will always keep you guessing what’s coming next. This uncertainty is compounded by the fact that the rooms in the strange dimension you are exploring continually shift, so when you open a door you’re never quite sure where it’s going to take you.
It’s still early in development, but already The Purgatory already offers a highly polished and captivating experience – a scary and cerebral horror adventure full of mystery and malevolence.

This game was damn creepy, I must say that! Even with lack of jump scares (except like one), did they manage to put me into shivers with just share atmosphere! Just that tells me that its a great game!
