The Tragic Loss of M. Slazak is a dark and twisted Lovecraftian point and click adventure where you make a startling discovery while searching for your missing grandfather.
Currently in development by Beyond Booleans (creator of the excellent Abscission), The Tragic Loss of M. Slazak is a slow burn point and click horror game where a young man searches for his grandfather. Taking place in 1997, your grandfather requested you and five other people to gather for a meal late in the middle of December. However, when your grandfather was a no-show, you go in search of him in his apartment and his antique shop. What you discover there is beyond your incomprehension.
As with Abscission, the gameplay in The Tragic Loss of M. Slazak is very much a classic style point and click adventure, with you exploring, chatting to others, searching for clues and items, and using them to solve puzzles. It could do with a way of highlighting hot-spots, but the puzzles are logical, the writing is excellent and it’s got a great retro pixel art style. The ending is particularly intriguing and will leave you dying to find out more. Highly recommended.
