The Whaler is a naval simulation game set in the 17th-18th century, that puts you in command of a highly detailed and fully functioning whaling ship, allowing you to carve out a living in the treacherous seas by hunting the largest creatures on Earth.
In The Whaler players take full control of their whaling ship, able to delegate tasks to the crew members (scrubbing the deck, repairs, crafting, etc,), carve whale art to sell or show off, trade whale oil and other goods, purchase upgrades, go fishing, buy new ships and hire new crew members – such as doctors to treat injuries and sickness. Hunting whales is a whaling ship’s main purpose though – you’ll be able to trade with other online players for rumours of whale sightings, track them and engage in epic battles as you hunt the massive sea creatures. They won’t go down easy, you’ll need your wits about you to avoid a watery grave yourself.
