Tiaki is a fun little game that sees you attempting to protect your life source from raiders by pounding them into the ground with your giant stone hands!
In Tiaki you control two giant hands with the left and right control sticks of your controller, with you able to move them around the play area then press the corresponding trigger buttons to smash them into the ground. You aim is to use your massive hands to squash the raiders who are trying to steal the source of energy that keeps you alive.
Protecting your life source is easy enough in the first few waves, but things get tougher later on as the raiders come thick and fast. There are friendly birds that will return some of the energy and you can also activate a rage mode that allows you to unleash a flurry of ground pounds, but the hordes are relentless so it’s only a matter of time until your number’s up.
It’s still early in development and the dev is planning on adding a lot more features, but the core gameplay of Tiaki is already very satisfying. It’s got a great visual style and crushing raiders with your giant stone hands is a joy, particularly when you unleash your rage mode. You may be doomed, but you’re gonna go down swinging!
