Touch Type Tale features an innovative blend of real time strategy and typing, with you actually typing out words to build your kingdom and command your troops.
Playable in single-player or online multiplayer (though testing is just currently multiplayer), Touch Type Tale is an RTS game where you control everything by typing. Battles take place on a single screen with an army at either side of it and players gather resources, expand their kingdom, build useful structures and build an army much like in any RTS, but you do all of it by typing the words that appear on the screen. So for instance, to use a building you’d type the word that’s above that building and to move your soldiers you type the word that’s on the path that you want them to take. The map commands aren’t limited by time, but there are also fast paced minigames that will test your typing skills and allow you to gather more resources.
It’s a fun looking game that offers an interesting twist on the traditional RTS genre and is can even make learning touch typing fun (which is no mean feat). The Beta is live right now and will be ongoing until Monday the 18th, 3 pm CET.
