Tower Princess: I’ve Come For You! is a lighthearted third person roguelike action platforming adventure where you don’t just rescue the princesses, you have a little ‘date’ with them too!
Tower Princess: I’ve Come For You! pokes fun at the video game/movie trope of knights storming castles to save princesses and battling dragons. Saving the princess in this game does not automatically win you her heart, instead you have to have a little date with her as you make your way through the castle to fight the bosses! Win her heart and she’ll give you a powerful special ability that will aid your quest.
The full game will feature procedurally generated castles, co-op, multiple different knights you can be incarnated as and a variety of different princesses to save and date. The current build is a much more focused demo though with a single castle to storm and princess to rescue.
The combat in Tower Princess is a little clunky at the moment, with only a few different types of attacks available and not a lot of accuracy, but it works well enough. The platforming is solid too and the level design allows for a nice mixture of platforming and combat as you make your way through the castle.
It’s a promising game, with high quality visuals, a fun sense of humor and an interesting twist on the classic castle-storming princess-saving adventures of yore. An old school action platforming adventure with some fun new ideas.
