Trianga’s Project: Battle Splash 2.0 is a non-violent competitive arena shooter in which up to 32 players can join in a massive water fight using Super Soaker-esque water guns, water bombs and other water-based weaponry!
We featured the first iteration of Battle Splash on Alpha Beta Gamer back in February and were impressed with it’s lighthearted and fun take on the arean shooter genre. Trianga’s Project: Battle Splash 2.0 is actually the Beta version of the Battle Splash we featured previously, but the reason it’s called “Trianga’s Project: Battle Splash 2.0” is a little bit complex…
The narrative of the game is that Trianga Polyga was a talented programmer who created a virtual/augmented reality environment that could simulate real life, called the “Brainwave Oriented Simulation System”. She then built a game called Battle Splash within that system and invited her friend, her sister and her cousin to join in the most intense water fight ever. Unfortunately that version had some unforeseen circumstances due to a bug in the system, so she then improved on the game and released Battle Splash 2.0.
What this essentially means is that even though there’s a “2.0” in the title, this is still the first game in the series and you jump into virtual environments for some cheerful water fighting fun. It features fast paced non-violent water-based combat for up to 32 players across three different game modes. There are four different characters to choose from, each with unique stats and special abilities and lots of water based weaponry to do battle with. It will also feature modding support and makes clever use of the water based theme, with splash damage affected by the surfaces the water bounces off and a run-to-dry mechanic – the faster you run, the faster you dry off/recover!
It’s a fun game that offers a cheerful, colorful, friendly and non-violent environment to do battle in. A massive water fight with some of the most OTT water pistols we’ve ever seen!
