Turf Wars: A Snail Escape is a roguelike action game with a touch of Splatoon, where you cover arenas with your goop, allowing you to move faster and to attack.
In Turf Wars: A Snail Escape you take control of a little snail who battles their way through hordes of creepy crawlies as it attempts to escape a garden. The game has a lot of the things you’d expect from a roguelike game (procedurally generated levels, upgrades, etc), but it also has a clever Splatoon-esque slime mechanic that really shakes up the gameplay.
When you shoot your projectile covers the area below it with your slime. Standing on your slime allows you to move faster and to shoot, however if you stand on unclaimed territory you’ll slow down and be unable to shoot, and if you stand on some enemy slime you’ll slow down even more. This makes every battle a turf war, with you trying to expand your territory while eliminating enemies.
It’s a lot of fun and considering you’re a snail it’s a surprisingly fast paced game. There’s a nice variety of weapons/upgrades to unlock and the slime mechanics work really well. So don’t be sluggish, jump in to the demo now!
