West of Time is an inventive little systematic puzzler where you rearrange objects in a Wild West scene to complete objectives and cause bloodshed.
Created by Students at the Institut de l’Internet et du Multimédia, West of Time sees you embodying the Raven Spirit – a malevolent trickster who creates discord by manipulating objects and time. In the game you are presented with a bar scene set in the Wild West, where everyone is enjoying themselves (well enough) and staying out of trouble. However, you’ll soo put an end to that!
After the scene plays out you can rewind and freeze time. Then while time is frozen you can move and alter certain objects in the scene, such as placing a bottle of whiskey on a table or messing with the cards the poker players are using. You then unfreeze time and watch on as the carnage unfolds and the bar turns into a bloodbath. The scene can play out in over 40 different ways depending on your actions, and you earn achievements for completing certain objectives – such as making a cowboy puke or killing everyone in the bar.
It’s a fun game with a great concept, a dark sense of humor and lots of beautifully animated pixel art violence. A playful little puzzler where a touch of mischief can turn a bar into a bloodbath!
