What Has Come Before is a very unique first person puzzle game that uses perspective manipulation as you guide your reticule through 3D environments.
Set in a haunting black and white world inspired by David Lynch’s surreal cinematography, What Has Come Before is a unique game that challenges players to navigate through limbo using only their senses of sight and hearing. The game’s core mechanic revolves around perspective manipulation, where players must thoughtfully adjust their viewpoint to unlock new paths and solutions.
Despite its minimalist approach, using only basic movement controls and sensory inputs, the puzzles provide compelling challenges that require creative thinking. The striking monochromatic visuals create a stark, atmospheric environment that enhances the game’s mysterious ambiance.
It can sometimes be frustrating because you can fail if you move your reticule to some darkened areas, while others are fine (so you need to use prescribed routes), but other than that it’s a fun, stylish and unique puzzler. It’s a clever concept and some of the environments are mesmerizing.
