In Where Shadows Slumber you take control of a character who is in search for redemption in a shadowy, forgotten land. As you traverse the beautiful isometric landscape you’ll solve puzzles, meet mysterious characters and unravel the games dark and brooding narrative.
Shadows have a major part to play in Where Shadows Slumber. Many places you explore will have limited light sources and clever use of dynamic lighting makes the shadows track across the walls as you move. The shadows not only look cool, they also can change the structure of the environment – structures that are not touched by light can change instantly, causing obstructions to disappear or bridges to appear. You can also manipulate certain structures by physically dragging them across the screen with your finger.
It’s a very impressive game with a beautiful Journey-esque atmosphere, gorgeous isometric visuals and some very clever puzzle design that encourages you to experiment and think outside of the box. A stylish shadowy puzzler well worth shining a light on.
