Created for the GMTK Game Jam 2020, in Why Can’t I Just Speak Normally to My High School Crush?! you take on the role of a young high school kid who is so shy that their words get all mixed up in their stomach when they try to speak to their high school crush. You can grab the lining of the stomach with the mouse and pull it up and down to help force the words out of your stomach so you can say them.
It’s a fun little game, but it’s also extremely tough, thanks to the fact that you not only have to force the right words out of your stomach, but you have to do it in the right order. A quick restart option would be nice for when you screw up, but even as it stands it’s a lot of fun and the premise and artwork is packed full of charm. A stomach undulating love story with a lot of heart.
