Wizordum is a retro styled FPS adventure that feels like a wholesome take on the classic 90’s Hexen style fantasy shooters.
Drawing inspiration from Hexen, Heretic and Catacomb Abyss, Wizordum is a magic-based retro FPS filled with secrets, traps and puzzles. In the game you take on the role of a cleric who has been sent to investigate a darkness that’s spreading across the land and to see if you can banish the source that’s causing it.
The gameplay in Wizordum feels very much like Hexen and Heretic, but with a much more wholesome setting (though there is still a little blood). You collect an assortment of different spells/magical weapons that are handy for ranged combat and you can beat up enemies with a mace if they get too close. You need to find keys/switches to open doors and there are lots of secrets to find or you snoop around the game world.
At the moment Wizordum does feel a little on the easy side and it gets a little repetitive so it might be more suited to younger players. That said, the retro visuals are very charming and its classic fantasy FPS gameplay is great for a bit of nostalgic fun. A wholesome wizardy adventure well worth checking out.
